Beyond being home to three professional sports teams, this year Lumen Field and WAMU Theater hosted versatile artists and performers for different concerts. Following up on a huge concert season last year, Lumen Field hosted the Rolling Stones Hackney Diamonds Tour, Kenny Chesney Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour and two nights of Metallica M72 World Tour. Lumen Field is consistently a host of large concerts. Last year Lumen Field had its largest concert lineup to date in 2023 with six full-stadium shows including George Strait, two nights of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, and Coldplay. This lineup was record-setting with Ed Sheeran's show setting Lumen Field’s new all-time attendance record. Taylor Swift’s second of two shows caused record-breaking seismic activity with the equivalent of a 2.3 magnitude earthquake.
The stadium's adjacent WAMU Theater offers a live music experience unlike any other.Directly attached to Lumen Field, WAMU Theater has hosted a wide range of artists including Gracie Abrams, Hozier, Jungle, ISOKNOCK 4, Janelle Monáe, Olivia Rodrigo, Kehlani, and JOJI in a more intimate indoor setting.
After celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2022, the stadium launched a "Fanovation" campaign to modernize various areas of the stadium with fan-first innovation. Lumen Field continues to debut new Fanovation highlighting the venue's dedication to innovating the fan experience. In an effort to get fans back to the event faster, Lumen Field has expanded the venue's use ofAmazon’s Just Walk Out technologyadding five new Fly Thru Market locations serving a variety of drinks. Leveraging the innovative Just Walk Out solution, new Fly Thru Markets were added totally to 13 concession locations powered by Amazon Just Walk Out technology, the most of any sports venue in the world.
This back-to-back award of Best Concert Venue adds to the long resume of awards for the venue.
